Alumni Weekend is an annual alumni event at UBC that welcomes alumni back to campus. Irving K. Barber Learning Centre is one of many host places on campus and participates in events and programming each year.
Asian Heritage Month is a national celebration of the history of Asian Canadians. The Learning Centre participates in this community event by participating in programs on UBC campus.
Each year, Learning Centre collaborates with the Consulate General in Vancouver, Cultural, Academic & Media Affairs for a series of cultural and academic events at UBC campus promoting the history and culture of Mexico.
Aboriginal (Un)History Month celebrates Aboriginal creativity, scholarship, and intellectual traditions. the Learning Centre participates in a month-long series of programs to educate, and cultivate conversations about Aboriginal and First Nations history.
All lectures are free to the public and have presented lectures by UBC faculty members as well as other world class scholars and news-makers that have brought university and community together. Since 2009, the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre has collaborated with the Vancouver Institute in webcasting selected lectures for an off-campus audience.
